His practice includes tax (federal, state and local), real estate, trusts and estates,business law, commercial transactions, business formations and organization, corporate and partnership law, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, ESOPs,estate planning, probate (including guardianships and conservatorships), elder law and matrimonial property law. He has also advised the drafters of federal tax legislation, beginning with the 1976 Tax Reform Act.
Furthermore, Mr. Kozak is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Arizona. Mr. Kozak represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the Arizona Department of Revenue, as well as before all local and federal courts. He is a member of the American Bar Association Estate Planning and Closely Held Business Committees, Tax Section and is a past member of the American Bar Association Partnerships and Real Estate Committees, Tax Section. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tax Section. He was also named as one of Arizona's top lawyers by Arizona Business Magazine in the fields of Tax, Trusts & Estates, and Corporate law for 2009 and in Corporate law for 2010. Mr. Kozak previously served as Publisher of The Diamond, The Official Chronicle of Major League Baseball. Mr. Kozak has represented a number of retired major league baseball players, many of whom have been elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Mr. Kozak earned his J.D. at Southwestern University School of Law as part of its SCALE program, a unique, accelerated J.D. program, and received his BBA in Accounting and Real Estate with Dean’s Honors at the University of Wisconsin.
