Federal Minimum Wage Set to Rise
Employers should not forget that the federal minimum wage will increase to $7.25 on Friday, July 24. With this change, employees who are covered by the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be entitled to pay of no less than $7.25 per hour. The complexity of the Fair Labor Standards Act -- as well as the number of significant lawsuits and the high costs of settling them -- make it incumbent upon HR leaders to fully understand its provisions. Join Alexander J. Passantino, the Bush Administration's former head of the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division, as he guides you through changing department policies and enforcement priorities that could have your company in the crosshairs -- July 28 Webinar.
