John J. Matchulat

John J. Matchulat, of counsel in the Nashville office of Baker Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, has devoted his career to the practice of labor law. Prior to entering private practice 18 years ago, he worked with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for 18 years, primarily as a Trial Specialist and Supervisory Attorney. R. Brent Ballow, J.D.

Brent Ballow specializes in labor and employee relations matters in his position of counsel to Miller & Martin, PLLC, of Nashville. His advice, training and representation includes traditional labor matters, discrimination cases, the Fair Labor Standards, Family Medical Leave and Americans with Disabilities acts, privacy issues, workers' compensation, policy development, employment contracts and non-compete issues. Brent has been responsible for over 60 representation or decertification elections. He is a 1985 graduate of the University of Tennessee MBA program and is a 1988 graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Law.

Mark Floyd, J.D.

Mark Floyd has more 23 years of experience in labor and employment matters. He has acted as a private practitioner and in-house counsel representing a wide variety of industries. Mr. Floyd is currently in-house counsel for Corrections Corporation of America. His previous experience includes private practice with the firms of Miller & Martin, Jackson Lewis, and King & Ballow, and in-house counsel for Browning Ferris Industries. He is a 1983 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law.

Edward Grandi

Edward Grandi is the executive director of the non-profit American Sleep Apnea Association, located in Washington, D.C. The association is dedicated to reducing injury, disability and death from sleep apnea and enhancing the lives of those affected by this common disorder. Mr. Grandi has authored a number of articles on sleep apnea for various health publications and serves as a spokesperson for the association. Prior to joining the ASAA, Mr. Grandi served as the development director for two Washington-based non-profit organizations. Before entering the non-profit sector he worked for 25 years as an insurance executive, specializing in insurance and risk management for non-profits. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Johns College in Annapolis, Maryland.

Dr. Steven Lockley

Dr. Steven Lockley is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard University. He is also a Harvard Medical School Associate Neuroscientist, Division of Sleep Medicine Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Lockley is an Honorary Associate Professor in Sleep Medicine, Clinical Sciences Research Institute at the Warwick Medical School in the United Kingdom. His research interests include the development of circadian rhythm sleep disorders. He has worked in the development of interventions that reduce extended duration work hour, fatigue and medical errors in hospital residents, and the implementation of large-scale occupational fatigue management and sleep disorders screening programs in several police forces nationwide.

Dr. James Stocks

Dr. James Stocks practices Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pulmonary in Overton and Tyler, Texas. He graduated from the University Of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and has been in the profession for 29 years. Dr. Stocks is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Center at Tyler. He holds a specialty in Med-Pulmonary (Adult). He is a member of the American Board of Sleep Medicine.

Sara Czaja, Ph.D.

Sara Czaja, Ph.D. is a faculty member at the Center on Aging at the University of Miami. Her research focuses on Technology and Aging. She is widely published in the field of aging and has written numerous book chapters and scientific articles. She is also active at the national level in promoting aging research. Dr. Czaja served as the Co-Chair of the Committee on Aging and Human Factors of the National Research Council/National Science Foundation. She also served as the Chair of the Technical Group on Aging of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. She is the Co-Chair of the upcoming meeting of the International Meeting of Gerontechnology.

Neil Charness, Ph.D.

Neil Charness' research interests involve age and human factors and age and expert performance. His research is funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health (National Institute on Aging) and from a supplement to the NIA grant from NIOSH. Dr. Charness served as Editor for the Psychology Section of the Canadian Journal on Aging/revue canadienne du vieillissement, and on the Editorial Boards of Psychology and Aging, Psychological Bulletin, and Aging, Neuropsychology and Cognition. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of Journal of Gerontology: Psychological Sciences, and as Chairperson of the Editorial Board for Gerontechnology.

Guy Danielson, M.D.

Guy Danielson is a neurosurgeon practicing in Tyler, Texas. He has served as Chief of Neurosurgical/Neurology Section at Mother Frances Hospital and Chief of Neurosurgical Section at the East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. Further, he has instructed hands-on spine workshops and served on the Advisory Board for Texas Back Institute and Biomedical Research. Dr. Danielson is active in clinical studies to improve technology associated with the nervous system.
